Network in Germany and worldwide

The Enterprise Europe Network is the world's largest network of information and advice centres for supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with international ambitions.

The EU Commission launched this global network at the beginning of 2008. 100 regional consortia in around 55 countries in Europe and the world are linked together. Over 500 regional business promotion organisations, chambers of industry and commerce and technology agencies with a total of 2500 employees work closely together in this network.

It offers practical and largely free support at local level for the organisation of business, technology and project partnerships in Europe and beyond.

The Enterprise Europe Network Thuringia provides information and advice on innovation-oriented developments, initiatives and programmes of the European Union and helps you in your search for business and technology partners. It is your local guide through the extensive information from Brussels.
European experts in the two participating supporting organisations, the Erfurt Chamber of Industry and Commerce and the Thuringian Foundation for Technology, Innovation and Research (STIFT), are familiar with the local business environment and are closely networked with authorities from all over Europe. Together, they offer integrated European services for your company as part of the Enterprise Europe Network and are available to you directly as contacts!

Internship offer IHK Erfurt

The Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) Thuringia continuously offers a three-month internship in the International and Innovation|Environment division. The programme is aimed at students of international relations, political science, economics and law from the 4th university semester onwards.

With over 600 contact points in more than 60 countries, the EEN is the world's largest network for counselling and cooperation mediation for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and research institutions. It is supported and funded by the European Commission. The IHK Erfurt acts as the regional host for Thuringia. Its main tasks are the initiation of international business and innovation partnerships, advice on EU law, subsidies, market opportunities, etc.

Range of activities

  • International research with a focus on foreign trade issues, EU legislation and EU funding programmes
  • International correspondence and customer service in the field of international
  • cooperation partner placement
  • Support in the area of public relations
  • Preparation of the EUROKONTAKTE newsletter including translations (en-de;de-en)
  • Assistance with the organisation of information events and international
  • co-operation exchanges

Requirements profile

  • Fluent written and spoken German, very good knowledge of English,
  • further language skills are an advantage
  • Familiarity with common Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Interest in working in an internationally active network
  • Knowledge of the structure and functioning of the European institutions as well as
  • Experience from previous internships is an advantage.

The internship can be completed as a compulsory or voluntary internship or a combination of both.
